What to do?!?!?!?!

Ok, first - BREATHE!! It's ok, this isn't a life or death situation!

Alright, did you make photocopies of everything? Or did your teacher save the letter? If so, then you certainly have a back-up. Contact the school and let them know that you have a back-up letter and ask them if they would like you to send it via regular mail. Also, if it's a common app. recommendation, your teacher can fill it out online (if possible). S/he may copy/paste the original one onto the online one.

I wish you the best of luck!

yea don't freak out. they haven't gotten my recs or transcipt yet. have a little faith in the cornell system. ;)

By the way, Harvard had not received my recs. or transcript for a little while. I was concerned at first, but I waited. And sure enough, with a little faith, I checked online (with my PIN #) and it said, "All the required materials have been received, thank you." I don't know if Cornell offers a way to check application status. I think I'm applying to Cornell Regular Action. In any case, hope it works out for you. Again, calm down and have a little faith.

it said to call them if things weren't received by nov 11th though.

https://admissions.cornell.edu/selfservice/login.cfm
"Thank you for applying to Cornell University. We are currently processing a large volume of applications and we expect to have all received application materials posted to the self-service system by November 11. Please do not call the Undergraduate Admissions Office to check on missing materials or resend materials that are not yet listed on the self-service system until after November 11. We appreciate your patience."

Hmm.. call tomorrow. Don't be all obsessive and panicky though. Just let them know calmly that you are aware that they have not received a component of your application, and that you would like to fix the situation (i.e. by mailing them a copy). Good luck!

Hopeful4Cornell, I'm in the same boat. I don't think there's anything we can do until Monday because the admissions office isn't open on Saturdays and Sundays.

Office hours: http://admissions.cornell.edu/resources/faq_answer.cfm?num=46

I'm worried though.

hey, i'm freaking out too, they haven't listed any of my stuff other than SATS / Common app / 1 rec... i didn't even send it the day before, but more like a week before...

i think i'm going to call on monday too :-)

but it is definetly a processing issue, because i KNOW that my teachers / counselor sent out transcripts etc, so it's not as if my stuff got lost in the mail

i think we're all on the same boat. monday = telephone party.

none of my mailing part of app materials is received....damn...

Guys, I wouldn't worry too much...it sounds like everyone is still waiting on them to update. Both my teacher recs (mailed 3 weeks ago now) showed up on Wednesday on their site, but still no transcript/school report. I asked a friend who's also applying ED to Cornell (and goes to my school), and he said he's still waiting on that too.

That message on the site is definitely wierd...you'd think they wouldn't put something like that up if they didn't get all the way through the ED applications by today. Obviously, they still haven't gotten to it all since it seems there are a number of us still missing stuff.

The best thing to do at this point is freak out and lose sleep over it.

Don't worry about it. They're humans. Give them some time to get organized. I emailed them and they said:

Hi,

There is still a backlog. Once we are caught up, we will send you an email
if you are still missing materials. Thanks for your patience.
