I got a C in AP chemistry this semester (second semester junior). how significantly does this affect my chances at Berkeley, Stanford or the like?

probably…

Nobody? No more pity love? lol

unless you’re in state, then a lot… but dont feel too badly, because AP chem is super hard, it destroyed my GPA personally.

Yeah I’m in state. @l0vemusicb0ys: I got a B the first semester, a C the second semester. I got all A’s this semester except for a C in AP Chem >:(

well as an instate person, you might be able to have them overlook it. like I said, AP chem is really tough and most people recognize that.

Ok. Do you know if the UC’s just look at the GPA? If that’s so, then I’m fine. But if they get the full transcript, I might run into some trouble.

{Ok, I know this is against my thread, but I’m going to give advice like a normal person :P}

You have to realize if you apply to tougher schools, there ARE alot of people who did get an A in that class, and other classes, and have awesome EC. Maybe make up for it by devoting more time to your favorite EC? (Don’t add more, quality over quanity.) If you like animals, try to devote 200 hours at the ARL this summer, something like that. It won’t completely cover it but it would be a way to add something to your application that you enjoy!
