ahhhh

right now i am in my C programming class at a community college. i am dying! i have never programmed in c++ or java...only VB6. is this the wrong class for me?

VB6 is not a good place to start programming, but why are you dying are you doing all the reading understanding hte material and doing all the homework? If you can't do C you won't be able to do Java or C++ for sure -- C++ is C with a chery on top and so is Java. In any case all programming languages are essentially the same theory for loops, ifs thens, and etc... but you might have spent years using VB6 and never have done any real programming (I know that's true for me!)

it was actually my first class yesterday and i wasnt following at all. i didnt know what any of the symbols meant (ex: int.). what should i start with then?

Int is integer...you should just try getting a beginner book and reading up on it.

I did VB in 9th grade then started Java in 11th. It was def different cause I didn't program much in VB. JUst try reading up on some basics.

Do be sure to discuss your predicament with the instructor. They are, by far, the best judge of whether or not you're going to be able to handle the courseload without a ton of prior understanding of computer programming, or if you're going to need to drop the class and take a more basic computer programming course.
