Aid for Transfers: LUC,UChicago,NU

Anyone know the transfer aid for Loyola University Chicago, University of Chicago and Northwestern? For Northwestern I read that the grant isn't much and that it's mostly just loans.

I believe Northwestern states they don't give grants to transfers, at least not for the first year. You may be eligible after that. In other words, you need to be quite wealthy or have an outside scholarship source to make Northwestern a practical option.

But at least one successful transfer stated that he/she got significant grants.

Yeah, that was me.

I was in your shoes when applying to NU. I had heard, and in fact it states on their website, that they do not give much, if any aid to first year transfer students. I don't know what to say, I was offered a large sum in grants. I come from a middle class to lower middle class background in case you were wondering. I don't know whether that money was all need-based, or all merit-based, or a combination of the two. It was labeled as "Northwestern University Scholarship" on my financial aid award letter.
