How much does Georgetown typically help with financial aid? Generally speaking, for an upper-middle class family, is there any chance of aid?

I know Georgetown only offers need-based aid. So, for an upper-middle class family, that probably means nothing.

Well you have to define upper-middle class. If you consider that $100,000/yr combined income then you could definitely get aid, but if you consider that $300,000/yr combined then I wouldn't expect anything.

you probably won't get any aid. i'm upper middle class and according to my fafsa efc we were far from getting any aid. i know, it sucks.

is the efc in dollars?
like if its like 3000, is that 3000$ per year?

Well that just sucks..
Dosen't it seem like the middle/upper-middle classes are sort of getting screwed? I mean, the upper class/wealthy have no problem paying, the lower-class gets aid.. I mean ~$40-50,000/yr is ALOT for most.

Yes, the middle class gets screwed. Either no aid if in upper middle class, or a bunch of loans if in middle class.

yeah we get screwed. The EFC is basically the amount the fafsa predicts your family can contribute. So for example Georgetown's estimated cost of attendance per year with tuition, room, books, transportation, etc is 48,000. You subtract your EFC from 48,000, and that is about how much aid you will get. So if yours is 3,000 then you will get a ton of aid (around 45k in low interest loans, need based scholarships, etc). Thats basically saying you can afford no more than 3k a year for college.
