great grades and sats. go for it.

thanks.... do you think I should aim for a higher ivy, or is cornell a good match for my grades.

I think you have a good chance with higher ivies. You can always get in with Cornell RD.

what high school on long island do you go to?

You definitely have the SAT and grades to apply ED and make a better business school. You mentioned the word "Wharton" several times in your post. I would think you would be serious about wharton, not cornell. My brother made wharton last year with the same SAT scores (1550) and about the same average (he had a 95). And you definitely have better ECs than he did. So, if I were you: AIM HIGHER!

Aim for the schools that you would be happy to attend. Don't worry about what is "higher" or "lower". Your chances of getting accepted at one of the Ivies is as good as anyone else with terrific stats...At some of the Ivies less than 10% of the applicants get accepted. But...go for it if you really want to go there!! Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Please, anyone with your stats has a shot. You have to know that. You're not a shoo in, but of course you can try anywhere.

Sorry to reask this, but what high school on LI do you go to? I attend Bellmore John F. Kennedy for your own knowledge. Cornell seems logical, but I'd say for an higher Ivy you would need to have a tremendous class rank.

I'd say you are a solid fit for Cornell. You'd have a decent chance of getting in there regular admission. You could probably apply to a few other Ivies like UPenn and Dartmouth as more reach schools. Both of those schools have great business programs, and UPenn-Wharton is probably the best in the country.

Your grades are outstanding and test scores are very high which serves you well. The ECs are decent but not too strong which probably doesn't make you a serious candidate for Columbia, Harvard, Princeton and Yale but should still allow you to get into another Ivy.

My best bet is for you to apply to Cornell early if thats where you really want to go. That way, you don't have to wait 4 months for a decision and you're still going to a top-notch school.

Hey...wow I'm pretty surprised, this thread has been dead for a while and all of a sudden a lot of messages today which im happy about. To those asking which high school I go to, I am a student at Hewlett High School. My plans as of now are to apply early to Cornell AEM program, and if I don't get in I will apply to Dartmouth, Brown, and Wharton as far as ivies go. It was tough for me to choose to go early for Cornell, but in the end I felt it made the best fit, being in state, as well as my best chances to be accepted. Thanks for the responses.

wow thats good! you have great stats. i agree with everyone else, u should aim higher, like wharton.
