Do you think you'll be using it when you're a parent and such? With away messages like, "picking up the kids from soccer practice" or "getting married...be back after the honeymoon?"

I will. AIM is sweet. Besides, a time will come when my best friend won't live in the same city as me most likely. And it's a good, quick way to talk without the dreaded phone (I hate talking on phones). As long as I'm not dead by then I'll still be a loyal AIM user

Yes, but I would never talk to my kids on it. That's creepy

yeah, when parents do that it freak me out. Even if they're in like college. It's weird. Thank goodness my mom is computer illiterate

I'll use it to bug my kids when they do homework. "Check out this link..." "Dad! You just flooded my system with popups!"

hehe you'll be such an evil father

until it turns into "Dad!, you have to buy me a new computer b/c one of the links you sent me ruined the computer with a virus!"

lol

In 30 years, I think there's gonna be a whole new breed of IM programs...so I'm not sure.

yanners has a point! Hmm.. I probably will not be using AIM. I don't know, I really hope that I will have better things to do by then. O___O otherwise.. sad..sad.

I've always thought about this too for some reason. If IM (and computers in general) is around the same as now, then I probably would be using IM. That seems so weird though; However, that is one big IF, because we have no idea what the world will be like in 30 years...

This is true. 30 years ago, people were asking if computers will ever shrink down to the size of a refrigerator.

already they have voip...why aim in 30 years, when broadband will be the standard?

I don't even use AIM now... why not just call the person up and talk to them? I don't do the whole text message thing either. Same reason... I'd just call 'um up and say what I have to say.

"honeymoon brb"

"busy in the bedroom brb"

giving birth, wish me luck, lol :-P...call the cell

lol I read on a site, I think bash.org, or something like that, someone was like:
