AIM virus

did anyone else get htis yesterday, a friend "sent" a link that said view this funny pic, i went to it and nothing was their, then all of the people on my buddy list go the same message but htis time it was from me. i just ran the program aimfix(from geeks.com or something like that) and am removing spyware from my computer, will this fix it or do i have to do something else.

I don't know, but I have it too. Let me know what works...

lol yes i got that too.... i didn't click it

It started as a virus on MSN, I think its a newer version of the Beagle. DO not click on any suspicousn links......and update your anti-virus programs.

I just ran the aimfix from jayloden.com and it seems to have worked.

yea same the aimfix works, the thing is a person who has you on their buddy list send a link out that says hey look at this pic, you think it is from your friend but it ends up being from the virus, so it does not seem out of the ordinary

haha.. you are all Internet Explorer users.. get Firefox http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/ download and analyze files before running them. do not run executables (including .exe, .com, and .vbs) - they are obviously not pictures. the spoofed file extension should immediately allow you to recognize these AIM viruses.

i didnt click it either...it's a good way to find out who has you on their list (and you dont know it :D)

My son found a fix for this but I just realized someone else had posted.
