Who here took the AIME I? Thoughts? I personally thought it was quite a bit harder than last year's test.

I’m taking the AIME II, but I really wish I took it…I thought it was on the easier side.

^how about compared to last yrs AIME I?

This seemed about as easy in my opinion, though these things are a bit subjective.

1 and 2 were really trivial (not that they generally contribute much to the AIME’s difficulty, but still). 5-8 were also easier than the corresponding questions on last year’s test, in my opinion (normally I really struggle with number theory problems later in the test, but I managed to get this year’s number 8 ). 7 was bash-able with calc, which took away from its value, imo. 11 and 12 weren’t really conceptually hard, but it’s easy to make a mistake with lots of casework.

Of course, it’s easy for me to say this, solving the problems leisurely at home. I’m perfectly aware that taking it for real is a different story (my story on the AMC ).

Ehhh, this AIME was harder. I got an 9 last year, this year a 7.

I thought it was definitely harder imo. But you know, I only got a 3 this year…

cutoff predictions for AMO and JMO? for AMO i predict somewhere between 204.5 and 210, JMO somewhere between 207.5 and 212.5

how did everyone else do?

127.5 on AMC 12 but completely bombed AIME like wat T_T
Sighhhh… time to go hit AOPS books again~ 8-|

what did u get on AIME?

chance a 210er?

amo or jmo?

@wcao9311
When I mean bomb, I meant that I did really bad T_T
I got like a 4 on the AIME
It was my first time so it shows how much prep I need for later

Really, then how did you get a 120+ on the 12?

@wcao: AMO

210 should be good for AMO.

@wcao9311
LOL I don’t know either…
I think it was cuz I was really sleepy during the AIME… didn’t get much sleep
But that’s my fault ofc xD
Now that I look back at the questions they seem doable… still… need more practice
