Aiming for top schools ...but!?

Hi there I’m a high school student from chicago!

THis thread is going to be little complicated for some reasons.

BUt it is going to be interesting.

Okay

I’m a foreing student from Korea. I have never been US until I arrive here as a freshman. Therefore, I speak clumsy engilsh ; (

here is my current stats

foreign asian male, junior, chicago, small catholic HS

psat: (avg)
verbal 650
math 750
writing 680
I decided to abandon satI af/ this ;(

SATII
planning

ACT(practice)
29 w/o any prepartion
(BUt Im pretty sure I can make it around 33 or up)

GPA: currently 3.9 but climbing

AP: currently taking AP US
plan to take AP eng. AP Anatomy AP theology AP European history
AP calculus
(IT’s all they offer really!)

Extracurrculum
chess team
Fed challenge(captain)(we were 3rd in our region but they did not acknowledged this!!!)
creative wrting
mathletics
Cross-country(since sophomore. currently captain)
Track tema(since sophomore)
work-study program

*I took even support eng class for my skill when I was freshman!
so freshman and sophomore corses are not very impressive

Well… maybe I’m dreaming but I’m aiming for top schools
Columbia Univ.
Cornell
MIT
Univ. of chicago
Northwestern
U penn.
Emory

I think I can get pretty decent score in ACT b/c only problem was eng, and it is getting better. My interest mainly lies on the field of economics. Since practically all top schools offer great economics as major, I am utterly confused and my list is getting fuzzy everyday. If you have any guidence for this listing problem plz tell me.
AND
plz encourage me or torture me because any response will be sweet guidence for this lost man!

annyung!

wow, your sat scores are pretty good considering you've only been in the states for a few years. and ap classes too? that's pretty impressive.

you still have a year to figure things out, so work on improving your grammar and writing skills, make sure you can get good recs from your teachers (a rec from an english teacher would help tons). good luck!

im confused...?

u didnt take sat's? and since when is there ap anatomy? is this another joke thread?

Take the SATs. You got a 1400 / 2080 on the PSATs, your first try. My friends got like 1260 PSAT and improved to 1460 by the SAT; 200 point increases are not out of the ordinary.

It was AP chemistry that I was plaaning to take.
Since I'm from midwest and still junior.
I did not take SAT yet or on that matter maybe will not take it.
But , considering advices, maybe I should take it : )
verbal is always painful, but I was lucky this time!

"AP Anatomy AP theology "

There are no such AP exams.
