I am currently a freshman at Arizona State University and am considering applying to the Air Force Academy. I know that I would be cutting it close if I applied for the the class of 2015. Should I still try to apply for the next class or should I wait and apply for the class of 2016?

If I do wait to apply for the class of 2016, what should I do first?

Here are my academics and athletics:
PSAT: 730 English, 670 Math, 610 Reading
ACT: 29 Math, 32 English, 31 Reading, 33 Science
GPA: 3.84
Rank: 10/510

I also was in NHS, and on varsity for 4 years for the tennis and cross country team.
I can run a 4:50 mile, complete 14 pullups, 70 pushups, and 60 situps but I haven’t done it all at once like the fitness exam requires.

You still have time to apply but you need to do it MONDAY!

Go online… [Air Force Academy](http://www.academyadmissions.com) and apply.

Then, in this order, and by Wednesday:

Write letters to both Senator Kyl and McCain and to your US Representative requesting nomination. You can cut/paste from the AFA website.

READ the AFA website about ALL that you need re: paperwork, etc…etc…and get to work on it. You’ll need to send your SAT/ACT scores to USAFA; you can’t do that, the SAT/ACT folks will have to so you need to contact them.

This is a start. Make it by Friday, there’s a holiday on Monday.

IF you do this…then you can still make the process this cycle.

I worked my butt off today and I got the letters done and the online application done this evening. I will probably be able to send the letters 9/5 but since its a weekend and a holiday is on Monday it make take awhile to get to my Congressmen. How long does it take to get the application packet from the precandidate application?

Sorry…I’ve been on leave…just returned last night.

“Typically” they’re pretty quick but…it is the beginning of the annual cycle…might take them a couple of weeks…
