Air Force Basketball

Precision offense and suffocating defense led to a 67-38 season-opening win over Dartmouth in the Air Force Classic.

Are games well attended by the Wing?

I was pleasantly suprised by last night's attendance. Even though it was only the first game of the year, it drew a pretty good crowd of both cadets and the general public.

probably because all of us 4 degrees were there because we couldn't leave

Men's game last night against Radford. We won in overtime, 52-47!! I thought it was going to be pretty depressing after watching the first few minutes but we made a pretty strong comeback. :)

Definitely an awesome game. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Also, never heard of Radford before....

yeah, starting off down 19-2 is never good

The games are always really fun to go to. I don't go to the AFA but my brother does and I live in the springs and we go to every game. So much fun! Next week when they play CU (our old coach left the AFA for CU) they are trying to get everyone to wear white and "white out" the stadium. It should be sweet

Section 8 has shirts available for cadets that poke fun at our old coach in a fun manner. anyone who doesn't buy the actual shirt they want to wear as much white as they can

DENVER - Blue and Silver-bleeding Air Force basketball fans will surely greet Jeff Bzdelik with all the care and affection of a bug hitting a windshield before and during Thursday’s clash with the University of Colorado.

its gonna be the best game ever. cant wait

Unfortunetly, the Supt made us change the shirt design. Evidently, the original wasn't professional enough. :)

Before the season, Air Force senior forward/center Eric Kenzik said he heard two questions more than any others from fans and classmates.

What Top 25 basketball teams do you play this year, and when do you play Colorado?

The answer to the latter question is tonight, at 7 at Clune Arena. The reason so many were interested in when the Buffaloes were coming to town is their coach, Jeff Bzdelik.

Ramsey: Bzdelik merits nothing from Air Force crowd

DAVID RAMSEY THE GAZETTE

Silence.

It’s the proper response to Jeff Bzdelik’s return to Clune Arena.

He doesn’t deserve applause, not after abandoning the Falcons for a bigger paycheck in Boulder.

And he doesn’t deserve to be cursed or pelted with rotten mangos or burned in effigy. Such treatment is too extreme for a coach who led the Falcons to 50 wins in two seasons.

Here’s what he deserves: nothing.

Bzdelik insists he doesn’t care how the Clune crowd treats him when he returns tonight as coach of the Colorado Buffaloes.

I believe him. He doesn’t much care about the academy. He never did. Air Force is just another destination in his rearview mirror.

“I’ve been doing this 32 years,” Bzdelik said Tuesday night in his trademark monotone. “To me, you know, it’s just another step along the way.”

So take the simple approach. When Buzzy is introduced tonight as coach of the Buffaloes, the crowd at Clune should respond with a total absence of noise. Ignore him, and after the game he’ll go away.

When someone spurns you, the best response is apathy. A big fuss will only feed Bzdelik’s ego.

too bad that beat us 60-50. we're now 5-3
