Good news for the state.

Good news for the engineering department as well. I sense expanded co-op and internship opportunities in the near future.

Forgive my ignorance, never been to an aircraft factory. Are there many engineers located there, or do they primarily work at “headquarters”?

Airbus already has a small R&D department down there, so thy might expand it. Generally, there will be at least some engineers on staff at a factory. Where I worked this past summer was both a factory and HQ, so my experience might be somewhat biased. But I believe that at most major plants, like Boeing, there are some engineering positions. So it should provide some options for people interested in aerospace and manufacturing
