Airport transportation?

I imagine these question has been asked before. I apologize if they have. Here goes:

 1. Does Grinnell transport the kids to the airport in Des Moines at fall, Thanksgiving and Winter ? Do they also provide pick-up on the return flight? If they do, where does one find out about reservations for a ride?

Any suggestions for deals on airline tickets? We live in NC so I don’t think we’ll be driving to except for the drop off next month and the pickup in May.

Misc:What kind of winter wear is necessary? We live in the south and I imagine D doesn’t even begin to have what she’ll need.

Thanks in advance. The posts here have been really helpful.

There's a shuttle to and from airport, here's a link for the schedule for August
Facilities Management - Grinnell College
$25 each way, $50 if you reserve after Aug 1

It's really quite cold there in winter because of wind chill. North Face is one good brand for jackets. The combination of a Primaloft under layer and a hooded over-jacet with a hood is really effective. Uggs are warm comfortable boots that might even be fashionable. A warm knit or fleece hat that can cover the ears, warm gloves or mittens and a warm scarf are a good idea.

And don't fly into Cedar Rapids. You can get a shuttle but it's really expensive. We recently got inexpensive tickets to Dayton OH on Airtrans. I don't know if they fly into Des Moines.
