How does this work out for students? What are tansportation costs if a flight gets delayed and one misses the shuttle that the school offers for a fee?

Bumping up this question.

I’ve never flown (I’m from PA), so I’m not sure about the delays, but from what I know a lot of kids take flights home. They have a couple shuttles going to cleveland and pittsburgh for a few days before a holiday break. I’ve never heard of anyone really having any problems with it. I know one person who couldn’t make their shuttle for whatever reason, and it was really easy for them to just catch a ride to the pittsburgh airport since a lot of people are from around pittsburgh.

Thank you giacch.

northeastmom, son is at allegheny, home is Nj. Although convenient and cost effective are not words I would use to describe flying home from Allegheny, they have a pretty good system. They publish the “shuttle” schedule way in advance, so you can purchase and schedule flights accordingly. Son has driven home and back to school with friends as well. He did miss his shuttle once, going back to school, he was able to get a shuttle from another company, a little costly, but he did not have to take a cab, or incur that expense, that would have been even more, as some have suggested on this site. Remember, they WORK at this school, it is not a suitcase school at all. There are not many breaks. The students seem to stay, except for major breaks.
