okay, so i just visited the mit website, not realizing that decisions are coming out in less than two weeks! as i was reading stuff, i saw a little box saying that any updates sent would not be read. i proceeded to freak out, because i got some pretty nice awards in the past two weeks, and i really want to send them in. GAH IS IT REALLY TOOOOOO LATE?!?!?!?

like, i got 2nd in a national essay contest, aime qualifier, top 10 on math contest (local/state-level), and nat'l merit finalist. i also organized a few things in my community and did some more research stuff I really wanted to tell them about, but they obviously don't care anymore? so if i fax a letter this morning and call them in the afternoon, will i know if it's been added to my file? if anybody knows for sure or at least semi-sure, please let me know. i'm nervous :( :( :(

me too....i just sent my AMC score (130.5) and tole them a bit about my new Group theory research...
i believe a lot of ppl r doin that since the AMC just came out>.<

hope they will add them ( by the way, i'm international, i believe they read internationals later)

Read one of the most recent blog entries on the admission website. I believe a quote from it is "it is now way too late to send any additional materials."

Selection has already begun (and has been going on for a week or two) for domestic students, so it is too late to send any updates.

It's okay to send updates while the admissions officers are reading applications (because your update will be passed along to the person who's reading your folder). But once selection starts, no one is reading folders anymore -- they're making decisions on everybody.
