I'm anxiously waiting for the results! Last year, the winners were notified around this time so sooner or later the winners of 2010 are going to find out too, right?

Man I hope so! That’s what I’m thinking, too. Maybe by Monday?

Yes, wishful thinking…do you know if they send it by mail or notify us through email? I think those who did not qualify get their responses after January ends…

It seems like last year’s winners received both an email and something in the mail.

Since today is a holiday, I’m thinking Tuesday? I emailed them last week and this is what I got:
"Winners will be notified by third week of January via email followed by mail.
Good luck!

Diana Leckie"

Now, that’s good news! Good luck to everyone who applied!

EEK! Holy crap, I’m so anxious now!

I am so anxious as well!
Which states did you guys apply from?

Also, you should definitely let me know if you guys are notified so I won’t be aimlessly waiting anymore haha.

I, too am aimlessly waiting. Help a sista out if you get word of anything.
I applied from Idaho. You?

Virginia.
I’m continuing to hope that my letter will get here by Friday haha. I realize the chances that I will beat any Northern Virginia kids out for the scholarship are slim to none, but hey, miracles happen!
Someone should start a Facebook group haha…

I applied from Illinois, but I haven’t heard anything yet, either. Hopefully we’ll hear by email this week!

I come from a small rural school, which may make it difficult to compete with the suburb kids around Chicago. I feel ya loudlarken!

Connecticut. How about posting stuff about ourselves? I’ll volunteer to be first (yay narcissism)!

I’m editor of Opinions for my school newspaper. I was part of the YDN Summer Journalism Program. I am one of two main anchors for the school local news. I’m also an editor for the school’s literary magazine (though, not sure if the forum cares haha).

I am a girl who is obsessed with anything Harry Potter. I love to do creative writing. Enjoy Linkin Park, Nickelback, and Schubert! Fascinated with Japanese dramas!

Next?

I’m from Idaho [I never thought being from a small state would be beneficial, but less competition?]. I’m the Copy Editor of the Yearbook, and my school is the biggest in the state. We are a pretty decent program. I went to Phoenix for the JEA/NSPA Journalism Conference; I’m going to Portland this spring.

I don’t have a ton of journalism credentials, but I do have a 4.0 GPA, 29 on the ACT. I don’t know if they care about that, though. Harry Potter is freakin’ legit, as is Jack Johnson, and [I’m embarrassed to admit it but oh well]…American Idol.
haha.

I GOT AN EMAIL! I’m representing Idaho! Holy cow, I’m so ecstatic right now!

Hey, just registered to say that I’m representing Oregon (:
I literally burst out crying, and scared the crap out of my mom when I called her at work. I think she thought that someone had died.

Congratulations to the other reps, and I can’t wait to meet you all <3

smilingismyfav3 and logleptic,

CONGRATULATIONS! This is a HUGE honor for you two!

I’m hoping to get an email still…maybe they haven’t sent the results out for the east side? (FINGERS CROSSED, EVERYONE!)

Congrats!
I’m assuming I didn’t receive an award, so I’m pretty bummed.
I’m sure it will be a lot of fun!

I went ahead and made a Facebook group (:
