Im a senior in highschool in Katy Tx. However I was born and mostly raised in Nashville Tn. I will be attending bama next year and I am very interested in joining a fraternity. I have two friends in fraternities at bama but they are both new row. I don't mean to sound cocky but Im not to concerned about not getting a bid from new row houses. But I would like to know what my chances of getting a bid from an old row house is. Im a 6 foot 3 230 lb white male. I played high school football and maintained a 3.2 gpa throughout highschool. So if anyone has any information on old row "requirements" for bids I would certainly appreciate it. Roll tide.

Post this on Greekchat.com

I did… They were no help

Because you’re a hot mess. Quit trolling. Besides that, if you have to ask about Old Row, you aren’t worthy of Old Row.

I’m not really sure why simply asking makes you unworthy of something…I’ve never really understood that mentality in Greek life, which is probably why I’m not Greek. Even so, I have a lot of Greek friends and they have never been opposed to measured, discreet questions.

If you have friends who are in fraternities, talk to them. You may also want to go through your parents’ contacts and see if anyone can talk to you about pledging at traditional SEC schools (even if not specifically at Bama). I also find it hard to believe that Greekchat.com was NO help, because I lurk there and I’ve seen epic (TRULY EPIC) threads with people willing to help new college students try to join a Greek org. They don’t tolerate foolishness, but if you come humbly and ask the right questions, they are VERY helpful (and friendly!)

@julliet–His thread was locked on GreekChat because he asked for houses that ‘hazed harder’ and other things that were completely ridiculous
