Alabama Presidential Scholars

So I was looking at Alabama and their scholarship says this:

“Presidential Scholar
A student with a 30-36 ACT or 1390-1600 SAT score and at least a 3.5 GPA will be selected as a Presidential Scholar and will receive the value of tuition, or $41,800 over four years ($10,470 per year). Students graduating with remaining tuition scholarship semester(s) may use these monies toward graduate school and/or law school study at UA.”

I have a 30 on the ACT and a 3.9/4.3 UW/W GPA. Does this guarantee that I get it because on their FAQ it says everyone who meets the requirements receives it but im confused about the use of “a student” at the beginning.

A student is an applicant. Yes, you would get it.

@jmac22

Pretty sure these stats for the Presidential are for instate students - so if you are from Alabama then you would qualify. OOS requires a 33+ ACT.

Yes this is the Alabama in-state student applicate qualifications. If you meet these qualifications and are an Alabama resident you are guaranteed this scholarship if you are admitted to the school.

Must apply by the scholarship deadline!

Are you instate for Alabama?

If not, you’d qualify for a different award

Yea im in state

Ok!
