I will be attending UA in the Musical Theatre track next year and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the training is like. How many hours per week are devoted to training and how do you enjoy it? Does Bama have any successful alumni that you know of? I’d appreciate any other information you have to offer!

Oh wow…good for you!

I personally don’t know anything about the program, but I admire anyone who does the performing arts.

Have you contacted the Dept?

google Tyler Layton

she starred on Silk Stalkings back in the 90s

Im sure there are others, I just dont know their names

I think someone on Lost was in the MFA program.

Michael Emerson, the very well known actor, was in the MFA program.

On campus auditions are tomorrow – did you audition and get accepted at a regional audition? Congratulations! My daughter is a music major and sometimes interacts with the musical theater majors – they take their voice lessons from the faculty in the music school – and tells me that they only take eight students per year – so having an acceptance into the program so early is amazing! You might get more specific feedback on the program on the CC Musical Theater board.

Sela Ward, Talulah Bankhead, Jim Nabors, etc.

Just saw that this post was from last year – poster apparently decided to take out loans to attend NYU instead.
