Alabama vs Florida State

Hey everyone, I've been accepted to 5/6 schools I applied to and I narrowed it down to the University of Alabama or Florida State University. I adore both schools, and received no scholarships for either so far so money isn't part of the decision right now. I was accepted into my major at both schools, but Florida State is ranked #1 in the nation for my major (criminology) and is very well respected in that field. Do you think that one of these schools would be more respected by potential employers (and graduate schools) than the other, or are they pretty much equal? I know theres a lot going into a college decision, and this is just one of the facets, but it is important to me. Thank you. RTR & Go Noles :)

I’m partial to Florida State because my kids go there, but I think essentially these two universities are very similar. They have very much the same atmosphere/reputation. UA probably has more out of state students than FSU due to their merit scholarships for OOS. FSU tends to have more instate students due to the huge population of Florida and the very cheap instate tuition rates.

I have heard good things about FSU’s criminology program so that might be a tipping point since that is your intended major but I don’t think you can go wrong at either school.

Have you done visits at both?
