Can anyone compare the dorms at Oklahoma to those at Alabama. The Alabama dorms sound like they are really luxurious, and of course cost quite a bit. But most people are desperate to pay a lot for a comfortable living situation. How do the Oklahoma dorms compare?
(I’m about to start touring colleges with my son. When I was in school (not OK) the dorms were dreadful. I hated every minute living in them).
I’ve toured UA and go to OU. The dorms at the University of Alabama are much nicer than those at OU. The only exception is Headington Hall, an athletic oriented dorm (~49% of residents are athletes), although it is legally and physically separated from most of the other dorms.
The other dorms at OU are old, cramped, and fairly ugly.
Don’t forget they are building the new residential college dorms for upperclassmen that our HS school class of 2016 will be the first class eligible for:
The dorms at OU are dated for sure, but the foodservice is excellent. My D is high maintenance when it comes to food quality and variety, and she has loved the food there. Both good schools, remember the dorms are only an 8 month issue for most students.
