Alaska National Merit Semi-Finalist?

I just got my PSAT scores back (I'm a junior in Alaska) and I've seen on the PSAT thread that 04's cutoff was 210 and 05's cutoff was 211. I got a 218 (76M/71W/71V) and I'm somewhat satisfied, somewhat worried. It's the highest score I've heard of at my school this year but that doesn't really matter I guess. So, what do you think my chances are for making Semi-Finalist?
Ok one more question, from Semi-Finalist to Finalist requires making academic standards and leadership qualities I believe. What else is really involved there? I have a 4.0 + once my 5.0 weighted AP classes kick in at semester. I'm also pretty involved in the community and National Honor Society and all so I think I'll be ok there. But from there what is the deciding factors to who gets what scholarships? Thank you!

My daughter was a semi-finalist last year and had a 219...she is also in Alaska. You are IN but won't be notified until september 2005.

You are almost automatic into finalist. The only things that might knock you out are not turning in the applications, wiping out on your senior year gpa, doing real poorly on your SAT, a criminal offense or something else really bad. Out of 16,000 semis 15,000 become finalists.

If you become a finalist there are many schools that offer good scholarships just based on NMS. In addtion you will be able to show that you are a good enough student to get other scholarships as well

Thank you very much! Takes a little stress off!
