Don’t worry about it, Albert said my submit date was a day after the ED1 deadline, but I still was considered & accepted. I think it’s just the day that the admissions staff downloaded it.

I sent an email to NYU at admissions.ops@nyu.edu:
“I submitted my application via the Common App to NYU on December 24, 2010, and NYU downloaded it on December 25, 2010.
But Albert displays that my application date was January 5, 2011.
Kindly fix this as soon as possible.”

Their reply:
“January 5th is the date we downloaded your application into Albert, not the date you submitted it. This date cannot be changed.”

For future reference, I would suggest that the phrase “kindly fix this as soon as possible” is not the sort of approach to take with college admissions officers. “I’m concerned that the published date is after your deadline, and I wonder whether it might be adjusted to reflect my actual submission date. Thanks very much” is a far better approach. Your way comes off as pushy and arrogant, and would have cost you points with me if I were judging your application. Nothing needed to be “fixed”; you simply didn’t understand their procedures. Yet you blamed them anyway.

^ agreed. Especially if they haven’t reviewed your app yet, you don’t want to risk rubbing anyone in that office the wrong way.
& I submitted mine on the day of the deadline.

@director91007 I agree. I didn’t actually write ‘Kindly fix this as soon as possible.’ It was just the gist of what I wrote in order to avoid posting the actual email here; if I did it would be tedious. I appreciate your advice; I do put thought into what I write to admissions offices and I will be more careful.

I am to blame for not posting the original. For your reference, here’s what I actually wrote:

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am a prospective international undergraduate student who applied to NYU under the Early Decision II plan.

I submitted the [italics]Common Application[/italics] and [italics]NYU Supplement to the Common Application[/italics] to NYU on December 24, 2010, and according to the Common Application, NYU downloaded it on December 25, 2010, as shown in the attached screenshot.

However, Albert displays my application date to be January 5, 2011, which is over the NYU undergraduate application deadline. This is also shown in the attached screenshot.

Kindly help me regarding this issue; I sincerely hope it won’t affect my application.

Thank you,
Name
University ID/N-Number: ID
Common Application ID: ID

Just FYI, my S sent his in on Dec 30 and everything looked OK. We checked on Jan. 5 and got a Jan 3 email from NYU saying there was an issue (failed for some glitchy reason) and to resubmit by Jan 4. Well, that was not good, given one day to resubmit and it was checked a day after that. But we called UG admissions the following day and sent an email directly to one of the officers about the situation and they took care of it. So kudos to NYU for doing that.

hey guys, i’m an international applicant who applied for ED2 for Stern. Just to check, is anyone else still facing the issue whereby the high school transcripts are still NOT reflected as received by NYU? Because my Common App profile clearly displays that my mid-year & final-year reports are downloaded by NYU on 4 Jan 2011, yet there is no indication on NYU Albert. It’s been like two weeks past the deadline, so I’m pretty worried about it. Would appreciate any advice (should I email NYU regarding this issue?), thanks.

@sgang1 My high school transcript isn’t shown as received in Albert either. I called NYU earlier today and they said it is normal – even for ED2 applicants. I wouldn’t worry about it until February.

thanks ma3a20! perhaps you could update your application status once the ‘high school transcripts’ are received at your end? that would be really helpful :)
