Alcohol.edu

ok, im movin in tomorrow and i still got this alcohol.edu training to do... do i really need to do this ? i'm a over 21 yr old transfer.

Simple answer is YES. Why? Because they want you to do it.

how long does it take?

Couple hours...just watch TV when you are doing it. It isn't too hard to BS the test and get a 70%.

it was so boring that I had to space it out over 3 days.... I simply could not concentrate. Also because of the technical difficulties, I had to redo chapter 2 two times.

I found out at the end of the test that the primary consequence of not completing alcohol.edu is stiffer punishment should you be charged with any alcohol misdemeanor on campus. What a waste of time because the quiz is so simple, yet you're forced to wait through all the demos which take about 2.5 hours.

edit: the technical difficulties were extremely annoying, as I had to wait 3 days just to access the site.

finished with a 93... very easy, jus browse the web while it plays... took too many hours though

Wait, the only consequence is a stiffer punishment IF charged with an alcohol crime? THat's it? Should I even bother doing this? I don't plan to be some heavy booze drinker (sorry). Can I just skip it?

Exact same results, exact same feelings regarding this ridiculous online travesty.

Well, if there weren't so many underage students abusing alcohol (and other substances) at Cal, the administration wouldn't have to implement the stupid requirement.

it was sooo boring.. I actually kinda fell asleep in front of it. lol

The administration will also realize in no time that this bore will do almost nothing to alter the alcholic activities of the students.

I'm bringing this thread up after a year because I wanted to mention that the test is now up to take, it takes forever to plow through it, was as agonizing and boring as you all say it was; the university hasn't changed its position on taking this, and I got a 93% too. Weird thing is the Univ. says 70% passes, but the alcohol.edu thing says 75% passes. It also uses the phrase "neither a or b" repeatedly rather than "neither a nor b", but w/e. The picking of a "guide" was pretty stupid as well. Just watch out for the fast talker in the bunch. I had to change guides, since the first one I picked was completely annoying.

which guide did you pick?

wow *** 3 hrs, this program is total bulls***

i cant believe i actually failed. but then i did it again and passed. on some of the ones i SWEAR i got them right, i think it was because when i was clicking and using the number pad i probably pressed up and down so the answer changed. but still. cant believe i actually failed..............how traumatizing. haha

Finished with a 78, yay. I just turned the sound off and watched tv, coming back every once in a while to click the stuff. I don't give a flying **** about it, I rarely drink, and when I do I'm never in any danger because I have a high tolerance, it takes 5/6 drinks for me to slightly feel something despite being 100 pounds.

Can't remember the name of the guide -- the first one was some girl with blonde hair who was majoring in French or something like that. The second one I picked was some guy from the south wearing a red shirt. It took me longer than 3 hours for two reasons -- I took breaks (a lot of them!) and was messing with my computer while it was in the middle of something and accidently went off the internet and it didn't save (aaaaaarrrrgh!!!!), so I had to let it repeat info for about 20 minutes. Module 1 was better than Module 2 -- the second was so bad it was insulting, and very, very preachy.

this is the most retarded **** ever

I don't drink period and I'm not surrounded by people who drink. This course is pointless for me! I just mute the presentations and google for the answers I don't know.

oops. 60% i failed. :D
