Alcohol Edu

This is already posted in the NYU 2011 forum, but I figured it would get answered more quickly out here, so --

Do we have to do it? When is it due? Does it come in the mail with the health forms (I still haven't gotten mine)?

I got mine in the mail last month. Yes you have to do it. Contact the dean of your college (Tisch, CAS etc.) They sent out the forms along with the summer reading for Tisch. I can only asume yours would come from whatever college at NYU you will be attending.

.. Is it online or on paper? If it is online, can I have the link? I have found most of the other health forms online and sent them in which might be the reason they haven't sent them to me.

I got it in the mail along with a handbook about drinking and drugs and sex etc.. I suggest you call your deans office.

word of advice for your youngin's.

don't throw a party during welcome week you will get written up. After welcome week, RA's stop coming by.

If you get written up you'll get either a warning or residential probation, both of which are 3-4 write ups from anything serious happening.

They didn't send it out to Stern... but there is that thing on NYUHome. Maybe that's it? I did it... it was all the stuff we've heard for the past few years, except they changed it to "drink in moderation" rather than "don't drink, period."

haha they changed it?!? i was part of a focus group they had, and we all said the "dont drink" line that NYU always spitted out just struck us an insincere and so far removed from reality that it caused us to overlook legit advice. We also criticized the RA policies, saying that they caused people to go to dangerous areas to drink and scared to go to RAs for help...doubt they'll change those policies though.

Apparently they now waive punishment the first time you go to an RA... I don't remember... I did the thing at two in the morning, but I think that was in there somewhere.

I took the thing that was under NYULife on the NYU Home screen.... the thing with the different scenarios. It wasn't very long, and I've heard the alc edu thing is veryyyyyyyyyyy time-consuming/boring.
I guess I'll call tomorrow? Thanks everyone. :)

is the the thing you all are talking about??

Yeah, I finally got it in the mail when I got home yesterday. The thing sueinphilly posted is what they told me to do.

It came in the mail with the rest of my health forms.

i never received any forms... is it just that link provided above, though?

Yep! It's pretty easy. Just make sure you click the thing at the end.
