Just received the email about AlcoholEdu (knew it was bound to happen, almost every other college has one..), started it and it actually isn't too bad. The videos are a little better than average and each video isn't too long and you can press "next" over a lot of pages that require reading. Oh, and our advisers are up on webstac.

The videos weren’t too bad… the surveys kinda sucked though. They were very long and redundant. The test was very easy though, so no worries for anyone there. That and it said that Part II doesn’t take very long at all.

Agreed about the surveys. I told them I hadn’t used drugs in the past year and then they asked me how many times in the past WEEK I’ve used drugs!!

I remember getting the letter about this but I can’t find it. How do we log on to do the course?

You can get answers at these sites, BTW:

As I recall from four years ago, alcohol edu was fairly common sense- I ended up baking cookies in the kitchen while the videos played and then coming back to the computer for the questions. Not that I recommend being a bad student like that!

justpokingaround, unless they changed it as of the fall, you should be able to get the necessary link via Webstac, provided you have your account set up, which by this point, ought to be the case.

ummm i keep failing the test! i feel so stupid i did the class took the nots and my test i failed not once but twice! help please!!

The test is common sense, unless they’ve changed it. If you’re having serious problems passing it…I’m not sure what to say. Rewatch the videos and take better notes?

Yeah from what I recall, it was ridiculously easy. Like, I didn’t have to take notes at all, and I didn’t even really pay attention to the videos.
Not sure how to help.

I didn’t get an email!
Is this supposed to be on our wustl account? I haven’t seen anything on wustl, or on my regular one.

Oh, and are advisors really up? I don’t see anything on webstac. And when I click on registration, it says I can register during certain daytime hours. But I thought we couldn’t til orientation?

So confused :/

wait- I’m officially confused. Isn’t the op a sophomore? If so, why are you taking alcohol edu?
Also, as a sophomore, how would you know that advisors are up?

I know in engineering that the 4 year advisors are not on webstac, but the ess advisor (ron laue or melanie osbourne) might be up.

LOL read the dates.
This thread was from last year.

Oh, wow. Big oops.
But I just looked at the date for the last post: lilgrace, when were you failing your test?!?!

hahahha fail.

how do you pass the test

…answer the questions correctly?

if you skim the articles/use common sense you should be fine. If all else fails, google the questions.

Well, it doesn’t seem to be too bad, though it takes a hella lot more time than one hour… there are a lot of stuff and the survey is stupid -.-

It asks you to fill out a survey that is meant to make you realize your alcohol consumption (if you drink alcohol in the first place - if not, then most of this stuff doesn’t even apply), and then expects you to know how much other washu students drink statistically. At least it tells you the stuff later on, though I still don’t get the point of them asking…

I hate this
