If my roommate has alcohol in the room, and our RA finds out, would I get in trouble at all? I’m in Witte btw
Depends – my kid had got written up when his roommate was partying and left the room, leaving friends and alcohol behind. After the write-up, my kid had to go meet with someone in dorm administration, explain what happened, and that was it.
Not that my kid wasn’t drinking other times, but that time, he was not – so he was kind of lucky. As I recall, he said it it was the noise that attracted attention, not the simple fact of alcohol in the room. I also recall he said that House Fellows (is that the right word) varied in terms of strictness - his was pretty mellow but others were more intense.
I would guess that, as long as the alcohol is clearly your roommates and not yours, you can’t force him/her to dump it so you probably wouldn’t be accountable for his/her decisions.
