AlcoholEdu

Is this AlcoholEdu thing really required? It seems like a waste of 3 hours

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure it is. I don't know, I did it last year, and I haven't heard of anyone who didn't. Just let it play as you go about your schedule and check back periodically to answer the questions - you should be able to pass without even watching the videos, because it's kind of dumb. Do something like -- let it play as you take a shower, then answer the questions, then let it play (on mute) as you get dressed, then answer the questions, etc. It won't really waste as much time that way. But...don't blame me if you do this and fail...if you had a health education program in school that already taught you all of this crap, you should be fine.

exactly right, bandcampgirl. i know one person who didn't do it and got away with it. i knnow about 5 people who didn't do it and got in "trouble".

I know a few people who didn't do it and never got trouble for it, but its better to just do it. Honestly, its largely a waste of time, but unless you're well informed there might be things you don't know, so it can't hurt. Besides, you can commiserate with the other freshmen on campus about how stupid it was.

yeah. put a movie on and just do alcohol edu and get it done with. that's what i did. i don't remember it, and i doubt i paid much attention to it, but it's something that you should rather have completed than not.

its really not a big deal if you just get it over with in one sitting. i had the alcoholedu videos play while doing things around the house, clicked "next" when i checked back at the computer once in a while, and still got a 90% on the "exam".
it's just like the driving permit test, in that you should mostly always go for the most extreme answer. don't abide strictly by that rule though (always use your better judgement as well), but i'm sure you'll pass even if you do.

just google everything you have trouble answering, all the information is very widespread.

Haha....alcoholedu? You actually have to do that? That's ridiculous.

So it late at night/early in the morning and listen to music. What's the difference.
Actually, if you stay up late enough, it's ironically like you're drunk, so you won't have to remember it.

*Do it late....

There's a volume control slider...I just muted it every new scene while I watched a DVD.

Wait a minute, this is a Duke forum? I'd better get my Terp butt out of here.

I mentioned this on Duiki - AlcoholEdu is actually a program developed by a Duke student - which means the campus is in the company's pocket (a lot like the Aramark fiasco).

I don't have the link. Go to duiki gossip and the article link is posted there.
