<p>I'm an incoming freshman, going to be in COLA. Am I supposed to take the ALEKS for placement purposes? I tried logging on online but can't seem to get through. I have orientation in July. Do I take it then?</p>
<p>ALEKS is not really a placement test. It’s a math readiness test to determine whether or not you are ready to take certain math classes. If you’re in COLA, you don’t need to take it unless you’re planning to register for a class that requires it (and some do - check the registrar site).</p>
