<p>A standard summer session is only 5 weeks long – the review is less material than a full quarter of chemistry would cover, so yes. (and it IS optional …)</p>

do ppl in sailors class get any compensation for being excluded in this program or anything?</p>
<p>it’s not a disadvantage if your entire class doesn’t do it - you’re on the same playing field as everyone else. likewise, if 95% of the kids in dr johnson’s class take it and they all get the 5% extra credit, then there’s not much of an advantage there either. </p>
<p>you might even have a bigger advantage over your classmates in sailor’s class if you finish the course. most of them will think along the same lines as you did above, not complete the tutorial, and come fall quarter, they’ll be less prepared. does that make sense?</p>
