Alg2 & Trig at the same time?

Hi, I'm going to be a junior in High School, and I really want to take linear algebra my senior year. So.. I have a quick question: Can you take algebra 2 and trigonometry together at the same time, if anyone could post their experience taking the two classes together that would be amazing, thanks!

For clarification; I was going to take Algebra 2 at my school, and trigonometry online.

ya just let your Dean know.

For clarification; Ask your dean about taking online classes.

In New York (and maybe elsewhere), the state curriculum requires that Algebra 2 and Trigonometry be taken in the same math class. I took Alg 2 / Trig in junior year, and it wasn’t very difficult for me. I’m a bit of a math person though. It’s a lot to learn, but it’s definitely doable.

As stated, the typical junior year math course in NYS is called Algebra 2 and Trigonometry. I took it freshman year and the trig felt a little rushed, but it was fine.

How can you take both at the same time? Doesn’t Trig use Alg 2 concepts. It is different if it is one class than two different classes.

My math class for freshman year was “Algebra2/Trigonometry”.

Yea, at our school all classes are combined like that

Yea same here. Alg 2 and Trig are taken in the same class.

Trigonometry is sort of our precalc if that means anything; we don’t have a regular precalc class.

Freshman year my math class was called “Algebra 2 and Trigonometry”

Yepp that’s how it’s done in NY! This was the first year with this test actually and the first year is always the easiest! The curve was ridiculous, don’t worry OP! I doubt they will make the regents any harder for at least 2 years.

algebra 2 first semester trig second semester

Yeah, you can and should.

aren’t you supposed to take calculus before linear algebra?

You can take them at the same time; my high school Algebra II course was Algebra II/Trig and everyone made it out alive.

I’ll take AP Calc BC Online over the summer.

^Careful, that’s a tough class for non-math people.

And you don’t really utilize much of Algebra 2 in Trig, so it’s fine

Aren’t Algebra 2 and Trigonometry always combined?
