Algebra 2 over the summer?

Hello! I am a freshman from New York and I am currently taking Geometry Honors. I am interested in getting ahead by taking Algebra 2 over the summer so that I can take a college math course during my senior year, also I am very interested and strong in math!

I would have to take the Common Core exam to graduate, but everything that I need to know I can either learn from Khan Academy or my older sibling who is taking Algebra 2 Common Core this year. Also, all of the standards and testable items are available online.

The exam will be given in mid-august. Will I be prepared for it without having any formal education on the subject?

I did a similar thing the summer before freshman year. I took algebra 2 over the summer through a summer program (SMI). However, in your case I would definitely recommend enrolling in the course at TTUISD or a similar program. Please at least get a textbook. Khan Academy is a good source, but it is not everything. I hope this goes well for you!

byu online high school will prepare you well for algebra 2.

I agree with both answers above. And, I did the same thing in high school. It’s definitely possible!
