I’m a sophomore taking algebra 2, and personally it’s been so much easier than geometry. What are your guys’ opinion? I have a 97 in algebra 2 right now (not sure if that’s an A or A+, as my school doesn’t use letter grades) and last year my overall average in geometry was a 93
I personally thought Geometry Honors was a lot harder than Algebra 2 Honors, but then again, I find my Pre-Calc Honors class a little easier than Algebra 2 Honors.
Have a nice day.
No, I thought Algebra 2 was a lot easier too! I think it’s because geometry is so different than any other math class. Those are both great grades, though, good job!!
Personally, I thought precalc was even easier than Algebra 2 since it’s basically an extended review of Algebra II, but that’s just my two cents. Most kids at my school thought the reverse.
I’ve taught both a million times.
They’re entirely different animals. It’s a matter of what type of thinker you are; it’s absolutely typical for grades in the two courses to differ significantly in either direction.
Geometry is analytical; you have to let the problem lead you. You have to pick an approach and hope it works; you can’t always tell which approach is best when you begin a problem.
Algebra II & Trig is different. Each problem type has a protocol. But the course is typically so loaded that you have to teach a topic a day. So a day or two of absence can have a real effect on your grades; you miss a LOT of material.
