HI i need some information about testing out of algebra 2 because my counselor did not help me one bit, i have been trying to find out what i have to in order to test out of algebra 2, but nothing , i called colleges, i have been doing research, and again nothing , please help.
That’s a matter for your high school to decide. You’ll have to work with guidance there.
If your counselor isn’t helping you, try talking to the head of the math department. Just be realistic that math builds on itself and you may not be able to get out of a pre-req. Definitely up to your individual school.
When you say your counselor did not help, what do you mean?
Do you mean that she refuses to answer the question, or that you’re not happy with the answer you got?
In my school, we don’t “do” self study. You take the course and you pass a year’s worth of tests; it’s plain and simple. Is that what you mean when you say she didn’t help one bit?
You should take Algebra 2 and maybe try to test out of pre-calculus next year instead. Algebra 2 is pretty necessary.
