All 2012 HS Seniors Applying Early Decision

NYU! Anybody same with me?

Columbia ED, although that 94% rejection rate is seriously making me reconsider. I wish I was as certain of my first choice as all of you are.

I might do NYU as well…but I’m 99% sure I won’t because I won’t be able to handle rejection and then have to wait until Spring for good news.

You guys (and girls) are still applying to EA schools right?

Cornell College of Engineering. It’s 1 of only 2 schools on my list that is a reach for me (other is Rice). Applying Early because although I have a scholarship to Rensselaer, Cornell has physics engineering, its campus is bigger and nicer, and cornell has a more diverse student body then Rensselaer. However, my family is expecting little financial aid, so even if I get in, going there might not be an option. Was told by cornell it’s easy to back out of the ed agreement though.

safeties: rensselaer, suny buffalo honors

EA at UVA and Tulane for me. Find out about 3 of 14 schools in december!

Resurrecting this thread…

WashU ED for me…though it is not the reachiest school on my list (by a long shot) it is by far my favorite. I love almost everything about it and since I want to do a pre-med curriculum, the fact that WashU’s med school is top-notch is a real draw for me.

Almost 100% sure I’m applying ED to Tufts. I love everything. :)

@Profrogue
What do you plan to study at Tufts by chance?

I’m looking at Biopsychology/Biotechnology/International Relations. (:

Cornell College of Human Ecology. I feel like the broad curriculum at Cornell would give me more opportunities to explore different careers (despite my dream of being an international traveling pediatrian… Kind of unrealistic).

After visiting over the summer, I can say that I LOVE the place!!! It’s beautiful and big, and is just a city inside a city! However, I’m not feeling too confident right now as I have just failed a percussion audition… 35% chance of getting in the ensemble, and I didn’t get in. Awfully similar to Cornell’s ED acceptance rate -____-

funny thing is, I’m not applying ED anymore lol.
good luck to everyone :)

What made you change your mind?

I want to compare financial aid packages from other schools. My former ED is still tied for the #1 spot, but that doesn’t mean I don’t wanna go anywhere else. Plus, applications cost money, and I’m not going to spend over $300 for “nothing”. I don’t want to lock myself in because I don’t have to.

@dingdongbell my sister applied ED to cornell for human ecology, was accepted and is now a sophomore. feel free to pm me if you have any questions!

I’m applying ED to George Washington to study international relations. Love DC, love the urban environment, and love the political focus the college seems to have.

polytechnic institute of nyu here, computer science

Some of your concerns are the same ones I had. The only difference is out of my list of schools, there truly is no where else I would rather be. I actually view this as a bad thing because I hate getting my hopes up for things. But my gut tells me that if I got rejected ED, I would be happier ending up at my state school than I would at any of the other top schools on my list.

Stanford. I know of at least twenty others from my school applying EA there too, and our class is less than 600 people.

Are you in CA?

Nina, I feel the same way. I feel that if I can get accepted ED, I can be accepted RD, and there’s no reason to rush it.
