Is Exeter Somewhat of a sink-or-swim school?

Is Exeter Somewhat of a sink-or-swim school?

I asked that question to my interviewer, apparently Exeter used to be a sink or swim school but now is not. His explanation was; “It’s in our best interests to see all the students succeed.”

Thats a plus. Is Exeter your number one choice?

i dont think its a sink or swim school. My friend who goes there plays football and did well enough at his public school (but not a 4.0) says that he’s maintaining a 9 which is like a mid b at exeter

I hope not but I mean if someone isn’t good at math and failing tests, etc…, what would happen to that student?

Prior to getting an accpetance letter, future Exonians receive a package in the mail, I have heard. What is in these packages?

^^^^
I’ve never heard of that. It didn’t happen last year with my son at any rate. An email came to my address, but that’s all before the official mailing with course catalogue, contracts, FA info, etc came around the 13th or 14th. (Yeah, it took that long for the physical package to get here and we’re in the northeast.)

Is Exeter the type of place where kids who don’t do insanely well in math have a hard time?

Exeter was sink or swim as late as early 70’s but has transitioned away from it slowly. That’s what i got from an alumni. When you receive the letter, does it just say whether or not you got in, or does it have financial aid information as well other stuff? I just got my course guide, am I behind in the mailing process?

Last year, decision came via email early in the morning. Then a few days later a packet came in the mail with a letter and FA info etc. The only thing in the email is congrats or sorry.

Is exeter a FUN place to be?

Well, Exeter in not for everyone. You should go there and get a feel for it and decide for yourself if it is a “fun place to be”.

What i mean is, is there a good amout of free time? From what i’ve read there is barely any time to sleep!

I met some PG’s from Exeter during a sports camp this summer. They said it was ok.

The school is “ok”? I think one specific aspect? … Well, I’ve done research and Exeter seems perfect for me.

Exeter for me is tied with Andover as my #1
