Hey guys,
is there a way to tell if all of our application materials are in? I know that at other schools there is a username and password prospective students receive so they can check up on these things. I applied Early Action and am starting to get worried that ND doesn't have everything because I haven't heard from them! Let me know!
Thanks

You should receive a postcard/letter indicating when ND has a complete admissions file on you and is ready to review. I would imagine that will happen any day now, as decision letters for EA arrive around Dec 15 or so (give or take a few days) based on previous years' posts for this topic. If you have still not heard anything by Dec 1, perhaps you could be in touch with your area rep who could check your file for you. Best of Luck to you for admission!!

I got a letter about 10 days after I applied saying they had everything together.

Oh boy, I applied Oct. 24th and haven't gotten anything....hmmm...

I'm getting nervous!

Call then. Worst case scenario you get put into regular action. Catch the problem early as possible (if there is one).

i've called about this problem before, they said that they are gonna let you know by mail, but the chances of you pushed into RD is small. I havent gotten anything either, so i'm gonna call again just to check.

Got a letter today. THANK GOD!

Now the crapshoot begins.

This will go on and off for a few weeks. I remember when I applied EA, I got one letter saying three things were incomplete, followed by one saying everything was complete, followed by a third saying that i was still missing one thing. It happens - just relax. Usually, schools start reviewing Early applications after Thanksgiving break, so wait until slightly before or after that point and if you still haven't heard anything, then you can contact the Admissions office.

Good luck!

If schools don't start reviewing applications for until Thanksgiving break, that would mean two completely hectic weeks reviewing several thousand applications in order to get the decisions out by December 15th or so. I'm no expert, but that seems a bit unrealisitic to me haha.

If something gets caught in the mail and comes in late, will they just switch the application to RD?

optical illusion - I know for a fact that my D's teacher letter rec was not received by Nov 1 (teacher dropped it in the mail Nov 8) She just received her confirmation letter on Saturday saying all info was in and ready for review (EA).

no, most schools (nd) go by the date of postmark - like if the app and materials for EA are due on the 30th of oct - and they get post marked that day - then you are ea if ou stipulate it on your app. -but they would assume that if you want to get EA you are gonna freak out and have it done before hand. they need the application-not the supplemental stuff like grades, scores, recs etc by then - i called wondering if they need my app before i send my test scores and such and they said no... but they must have the application sent in the mail by the deadline. - no exceptions

ND is sending the EA letters out around 12/15

gymmom - Thanks, that makes me feel better. I got my application, supplement, and teacher rec in on time, but my guidance counselor had some trouble with doing my transcript online so I had to give her a hard copy and it definitely wasn't put in the mail before 11/1.
