One of the schools we saw but not discussed much on the site is St Margaret’s, VA.
Anybody on the forum with insight on this school?

Looking for schools for next year for our younger daughter.
Check out Foxcroft. I’ve heard good things.
I’ve heard that Westover is a very nice girls’ school.
Westover is a terrific school. Feel free to send me a PM with any questions.
My cousin is at Westover now. She is ambivalent yet content there but she tells me her peers are unhappy and complain all the time. They are also raising tuition a lot for next year. Not unrecommending it but that’s what I hear most from her and she is generally a very appreciative girl
Are you trying to stay in the VA area?
@17scholars : What else are you looking for in a school? Are there geographic considerations? Do you prefer a larger or smaller school? What are your daughter’s interests? Is her passion robotics, riding horses, acting, or politics? The more specific you are about criteria, the more useful the advice you might get …
My daughter is a senior at Westover. It has been a fantastic experience for her. I have been extremely impressed with the teachers who have been amazingly supportive throughout her high school years, making sure she was challenged and providing extra help when she had some struggles. They take a personal interest in making sure the girls are successful. The most unique aspect of the school is the friendly and welcoming culture.
^^ As the mom of another Westover senior, I second everything @DelphiniuMom said. I feel like my D is very well prepared for college. She’s had a great 4 years, has great close relationships with her teachers and has some really wonderful close friends. The school has exceeded many of our expectations. The environment is truly collaborative, rather than competitive.
^ Hey, look at that Goat!! @cameo43, the goat mama!
Twin goatlings expected tonight or tomorrow, @GoatMama! They’ll hopefully be making a visit to CameoKid’s school in the near future to provide the girls with some “baby goat therapy” cuddles. :x
PS It’s kind of funny that CameoKid’s future college has a goat for a mascot! ;))
How funny! What college is that?
WPI (Worcester Polytechnic Institute)
Congrats! <:-P
Congrats on WPI & upcoming graduation !!!
BTW, I checked out the website & saw photos of the dorms at Westover-- the dorm rooms look amazing! Some look very spacious with large window seats.
Thanks @GoatMama and @Golfgr8! Less than 7 weeks away… And I seriously can’t understand how these four years have flown by so quickly… I am going to have serious prep school withdrawal symptoms…
@Golfgr8 – the freshman rooms, in particular, are huge! There were 2 enormous walk-in closets and an extra closet in her freshman double room! She and her roommate have managed to draw smallish ones in the rooms lottery the past 2 years, but they don’t seem to mind… They are cozy with adequate storage and do have window seats. Bonus: Westover has them move their things into their next year’s room closets ( which have locks) during the last week of classes… So they can leave a lot of their belongings there during the summer.
Hey- we will send DD up to you and you can do the 4 years all over ;)!!
