All Girls School Prep Details.

Hello ! This year I'm appying to serveral all girls boarding schools. This is my first time applying to boarding school and I'm a little bit nervous. So I thought of making this thread as a way to discuss and give opinions on the different girls schools. Their are so many threads talking about Andover,Exter, Deerfield, Choate, etc.. There's not one thread for just girls schools. So anyway here are the schools that I'm applying too:

Chatham Hall ( Chatham Virginia )
St. Mary's School ( Raleigh N.C )
The Hockaday School ( Dallas TX )
Dana Hall School ( Wellesley, MA )
Foxcroft School ( Middleburg Virginia )
Emma Williard School ( Troy New York )

So it would be great if anyone could give me their opinions on these schools. Chatham Hall is my first choice. But of course I want to hear about your school aswell. Tell why chose to apply to that school, what you enjoy about it, what least enjoy about it, why you chose to apply to a girls school, and overall just your experinces.
I'll be going to BS as a junior.

I would add Salem Academy to your list to. It is a really good school and its proximity to all girl Salem College is a plus although it is rather small. I applied and was accepted last year but I didn’t attend for alot of reasons. So I just wanted to put that out there :)

Emma Willard’s campus is gorgeous. I wanted to apply this year but couldn’t. seems great.

I have friends with girls at Emma and they can’t seem to say enough great things about it. The campus is indeed beautiful. The inside is stunning. For a better look, rent the movie “The Emperor’s Club.” It was filmed there. (OK movie - kinda predictable)

I would add Miss Porter’s to your list. My daughter is a recent grad and loved her 4 years there.

I’ve heard Emma is a great school

okay you live there and u will realize the truth haha

i just love rima they are just awesome!!

Of all these schools, I would say that Hockaday is the best academically. Its students consistently score >2020 on the SATs and matriculate to the top Ivies. However, it seems to me that social life is one of Hockaday’s weaker aspects, with less than 20% percent of the student body are boarding. Since you’ll be going to bs as an incoming junior, you’re going to need a supportive environment in order to integrate into the community and catch up with friends. In that sense, I would suggest Emma Willard.

What’s everyone’s opinion on Chatham Hall ? I’ve recently heard they just recieved a 31 million gift from one of their graduates to add to their already 50 million dollor endowment. I’ve also heard the campus is beautiful.

btw’s Miss Porter’s endowment is more than Chatham Hall’s new 81 million endowment. I would really apply there if you can - it’s the best all girl’s boarding school in the country. And it rocks.
