all i want for the new year is for you to answer my dum question and how you doing?

i took the sat and did not do well on it
also English is not my first language, i have been here in the us for 3.5 years
i did not take the the TOEFL because i was told not to and also because i could not pay for it, so is my low sat going to be a deal breaker in my admission, also i am black
also i have a 3.84 weighted GPA and a 3.77 unweighted GPA
should i then apply to the University of Georgia.( I am in state)

How bad is “bad”?

i made a 1400

i had a
m:500
cr:470
w:430
essay:8

If that’s out of 1600, then you’d be in good shape for UGA. If it’s out of 2400, then UGA might be a reach for you. I don’t know how much your race is going to help you though. Your GPA seems OK.

out of 2400

I suppose your could try, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up too high. UGA seems like a reach for you

I also don’t know your EC’s, so take my comment with a grain of salt. =D

I thought that GPA / transcript was more important than SATs.

Have you thought about taking the ACTs? A lot of people do much better on one test than the other.

Alternatively, you can consider attending a score-optional college (one that doesn’t take into account SAT or ACT scores in admissions decision). I found a list [at this link](ACT/SAT Optional List for Fall 2025 - Fairtest). If you’re intent on staying in Georgia, there is a handful of score-optional colleges in that state, such as [Agnes Scott/URL, [URL=http://www.aiuniv.edu/]American Intercontinental University](http://www.agnesscott.edu/), [Macon State College](http://www.dcor.state.ga.us/), and even [Dalton State College at the University of Georgia](http://www.daltonstate.edu/)!

You always have options and don’t let one part of your application destroy all your dreams.

I was once student of the month at my school
i am : president of the youth department at my church, help out with blood drive, secretariat of the french club, did one play, member of the equity council of the county
took some technical classes such as general medicine and also 2 years of health care

i am also first generation

anybody else please
