<p>"Before Lauren Polansky heads off to Princeton in the fall, the Branson School senior can add one more honor to her basketball resume: Marin Independent Journal girls basketball player of the year. </p>
<p>Polansky, a four-year varsity starter who was a big part of state championship teams as a sophomore and junior, had hoped to add a third title this year. But her dream fell two wins short of fruition when the Bulls fell to Pinewood in the NorCal Division V final. </p>
<p>That failure, if you can call it that, hardly tarnishes her achievements. </p>
<p>"In 25 years of coaching, she is the only basketball player, boy or girl, that I've coached who can dominate a game without scoring a point," said Mike Fulton, whose final game as Branson's coach was the loss to Pinewood. "To take this team to an MCAL championship and to the NorCal championship game says a lot. (continued)</p>
