I’ve heard from many people CAP people at UTA who went to review yesterday and got in
@jackm82 Were they non-COLA majore? I only know of ones getting in that are going to COLA. A few I know just went into review for non-liberal arts majors this week.
Some decisions have been released today.
Sooooooo, today’s a bummer. I had a 3.9 GPA and I still got rejected to CNS this morning. I’m still happy I get to go to the school in COLA, but do you guys know if I’ll still be able to transfer internally next year?
@mochichi If I remember correctly, you need 26 hours at UT before transferring internally, so yes I think you can apply for internal transfer for CNS Fall 2017
I got into McCombs yesterday as a CAP student! Hookem yall!!
I’ll be doing CAP at UTA this year and I want to get into Computational Biology at CNS(which is math heavy) while working towards the pre-med requisites. This is my schedule right now: English 1/2, Calc 1/2, Bio 1/2, and Chem 1/2, which all count up to 30 credit hours. How’s my schedule?, is it too difficult?should I replace chemistry with two easy social science classes to fulfill the UT Austin core curriculum?
@Yasser7KX Just be aware that UTA has a notably bad math department so be prepared for that
@JackM82 What do you mean by a bad math department. I heard that math is fairly hard but not as hard as UT Austin. What professor did you have?
@Yasser7KX Didn’t go to UTA but I thinK @JackM82 means bad as in poor quality not difficult.
@SailorVenus the poor quality can make classes alot harder than they need to be. My PreCal professor at UTA was easily the worst professor I have ever had. His thick accent and poor english teamed up with bad handwriting made his class hell.
@JackM82 I was one of the first people to register for classes and got all the classes I wanted with all high ratings. Every adviser told me that taking cal+bio+chem+labs of each, would be too difficult, so my schedule right now is: English 1/2, Cal 1/2, Bio 1/2, U.S History 1/2, and economics 2 in the spring, history and economics would go towards the ut curriculum requirement. However, I am also planning on going to med school, so I need around a 3.7 gpa. Are the UT Austin core curriculum requirements easy A’s? Would taking all the easy requisites at UTA then mean that I would be taking all the hard science and major specific classes in Austin which would negatively affect my gpa b/c I wouldn’t have those easy A’s to boost my gpa? What are the hardest core curriculum courses so I could knock them out at UTA instead?
my major degree plan is this. https://cns.utexas.edu/images/CNS/Deans_Office/Student_Records/Web.DegPlans/BS.BIO.CP.1214_20120926.pdf
