Thank goodness tomorrow is April 1st. I was worried I wouldn't be able to get in my 'I skied in 6 different months' this winter.

Well you could always travel to New Zealand or Argentina in July, where the ski resorts have plenty of business, since it is their winter, and those areas recieve similar amounts of snow as places in the northern US. Of course, I don't know too much about the conditions-whether it is a permanent pack like Aspen or intermittent like the slopes here in Ohio.

I really wonder what cross-country skiing is like in New Zealand. I had a friend go train there last summer. She had a great time, and she actually can beat me in freestyle now, I can whoop her enough in classic though to take the pursuit. So the trails there must be at least somewhat decent. Going there would be so fun.

Here we got more snow in March than any other month. We had a few ok holiday storms, but there was a lot of rain mixed in. A few days ago we got maybe 6 inches, but it looks like the skiing is winding down.

Yeah, it's been raining lately. Not fun at all. The lake now has an inch of water sitting on top of the ice :P

Cold rain or warm rain? Here it is 70 degrees outside, and we had only minor storms today. It will remain above 50 for all of next week.
And ever_after, have you had a dry or wet winter? I hear that there were fears that there would not be enough water to replenish the aquifers this summer.

I love spring! In celebration I shall smoke a cigar and listen to Spring by Vivaldi. Actually, I won't smoke one tonight.

Minnesota? That sucks.

You just love those cigars don't you, w1cked?

I love Minnesota. I fully intend to move back when I'm done with college, if I go out of state.

Definitely cold rain.... most of the time below 40 degrees F. Righ now it's 31, and the forecast says to expect 6-10 inches of snow tonight. At least it isn't really cold - I'm ready for spring!

kman1456 - Compared to last year, there is much less precipitation. All the environmental scientist-types around here say the snowpack is at normal levels, but other than that I have no idea.

I just remember the pictures of Lake Powell being twenty-six feet below normal in August last year, and there were docks that were standing dry as well as a scum rim on the canyon walls showing the normal water level.

Cigars are nice.

Cinnamon Teddy Grahams are also nice.

Key lime pies encrusted with Graham crackers are best. And bad cigars suck.

I don't get any cigars from unknown brands.

Snow? What is snow? Oh, yes, that thing that everyone Tennesee and up suffers from :D. It was 80 today, 20% humidity... gorgeous day!

They have snow in Tennessee? That's so far south...

They have snow in Tanzania, which is right by the equator.

I suppose.

You suppose right.
