Besides caffeine, tips anyone? I have to do an all nighter; it was inevitable.

Take a nap beforehand.

First time? I pull on average about 2 all nighters a week. The first couple all nighters are hard to pull off, but you get used to it after like 5.

Monster was pretty good for me, except I've become immune to it now lol. Try monster, they taste good too.

I've only had to pull one (school caused) all nighter, but caffeine just gave me a headache and made it take longer. I just kinda pushed through it; it wasn't that hard for me, I'm rather nocturnal anyways, and being a bit tired I could only focus on one thing: the task at hand. So in the end it worked out well, my only warning is don't let it goof up your schedule! Just because you're 'used to' it doesn't mean it's good for you. Try to get those 7+ hours of sleep when you can.

Looks like I'll be going all of high school without a school-related all-nighter. And, in all honesty, don't see how a person can be that bad with their time management/that busy to require staying up all night.

redline. you have to be 18 to buy it though.

whenever you feel yourself getting sleepy or distracted, go outside for a few minutes. the cold air should wake you up a bit. Good luck!

Hopefully I will get my health back once I start college haha

My course load is pretty tough (7 APs to study for...) and I am involved in extracurriculars (hip hop dance, tennis, piano) that are pretty time consuming. I also tend to procrastinate somewhat and go out often even though I have freaking tests and papers due the next day. I am not the type that needs a lot of sleep though. And I do get about two hours of sleep during my commute to school everyday.

I subscribe to the music and movement method. Do your work sitting up too, at a desk, because it'll be harder to fall asleep. If you start to realllllllly fade, take a shower. Never, ever act on the idea that, "I'll just close my eyes for a minute" or "I'll just take a 10 minute nap." That's the point of no return.

If you don't procrastinate and have good study skills, then don't take an all-nighter. They aren't worth it

don't do em.

its gonna ruin your whole week trust me, you should stock up with caffeine cause your gonna be feeling the affects of it for the next few days...enjoy your all nighter!

I suggest that you try to block all distractions and get to work.

Don't even take all nighters.

Consider just handing in the homework a day or two late

what classes are you taking?

You're working this hard now, attempting to stay up all night and crap, but what will it all be worth if you aren't healthy?

Seriously, take a moment and ask yourself this: "Why am I putting in all this effort now?" If the answer is "a good future", make sure you try and stay alive to see it.

I always thought college required more all-nighters, or at least nights where you'll be up past midnight. I've never had one in high school, but I'm pretty good at managing my time so I can prepare for nights when I have a lot to accomplish. Don't look forward to less work in college. It most likely won't happen that way.

What does everyone here have against all-nighters? I pulled a few in high school, and they were actually kind of fun, just to experience. It's a pretty weird feeling. Sure, they mess up your schedule, and you end up sleeping through classes, but there's also that sense of satisfaction that you were able to come through in the clutch and sacrifice your body for future success.

haha i like your way of putting it.

Taking naps beforehand definitely helps. So does fast paced music.
