I'm 22 and I'm looking to get my bachelors. I wanted to go to UT Dallas after I get my associate in arts degree from Richland college this fall. Online courses get a lot of negative feedback online it seems. I don't have a car and I really would like to find a job. UT Dallas is an hour and a half on the bus, but is a commute that long worth it?

What school would be offering the online courses? Do you have a lot of self-discipline?

It really depends on the school and the program. Some brick and mortar colleges have added online degree programs that are often very similar to classroom courses. Some schools have it set up where you view live lectures online while there are also students in the classroom. Your online degree may not show any differences between online and classroom.

You have to do some research to find quality programs.

As others have said, it depends on the school and program My son took two on line courses over two summers and his college took the credits with no problem which fulfilled some of his core requirements and freed him i[ to take some advanced courses. Doing this gave him more leeway to get those courses needed for a change in major. Otherwise he could have ended up having to do an additional semester. The online courses were offered by our state school and were very inexpensive.

My 2nd year at Richland I took 2 classes online. So far 50% of my classes have been taken online from the Dallas county community college district(Richland is one of those colleges)

TWU is affordable however they only have the BGS degree online

I want to become an English teacher or professor. TWU has the most affordable online program. Even though it is BGS they do offer 2 concentrations in buisiness and english however I heard so many negative things about the BGS on this website but I really need to seek employment.
