To the OOS out there who have been accepted:

Is it your S or D first choice school?

Where are you from?

My S is so excited!!! We can't wait to go and visit again to make our final decision.

cofc is first choice for my OOS d. she is very happy but wants to revisit cofc & univ of sc before deciding. also waiting to hear from uga (s/b by 12/15)before our road trip from NJ.

CofC is one of my top choice, but the pricetag might be a problem. I'm from Illinois and trying to persuade the parents for a visit!

i'm so jealous of all you guys. i'm from CT and my status on cougartrail hasn't changed yet.

i'm beginning to think that they are handing out the admissions before sending rejection letters...

SAT696969- You may just get deferred to regular admission-don't panic yet! Contact your admisssion counselor. We are also from CT and I can give your her name if you don't already have it. PM me. Good Luck!

To all the other OOS'ers, we are making a trip to C of C and University of Tampa to decide. Does anyone know if they have an Accepted Students Day? My S is a golfer and Tampa has given a fair amount of $$$. It is his decision, however. We are also waiting for Elon and High Point. Can you tell my S doesn't like the cold weather? :)

haha thats so funny- I got admitted to Univ of Tampa too. And I also applied to UGA. Your son and I have very similar tastes. I've never been to UT! Let me know how it is!

I am really hoping I don't get deferred from CofC, it is my top choice by a mile!

It's kind of a safety for me but I still have to look at the school before making any sort of a decision, Sat69 when did you hear from Tampa? My status online has not changed. Like you and a few others, I also applied to UGA.

i heard from tampa two days ago. i didnt really "hear" per say, but i went online and checked my status and saw "application status: fully admitted"

i applied like three weeks ago so it was real quick. i think what helped is i emailed the listed counselor and she was very friendly- responded to my emails right away and was quite enthusiastic. seemed like she really wanted me to go there.

db9golf--My S heard from Tampa about a month ago. He too corresponded with the counelor who really seem to want him to go there. He also was awarded the Presidental Scholarship (total of $36,000). We heard from Tampa shortly after we found out on line. Then about a week later my S received the scholarship.

Thanks for the info momsworried. I noticed you said your son was a golfer. I am as well. Was he awared the scholarship in part due to golf? Also, did he play ajga, ijgt, or fcwt tournaments just out of curiosity?

His scholarship was merit based. Tampa is Div. II and does not give $$. He's hoping to try-out and make the team. He has played ajga (I think?) and some other tournaments. Last I heard his Index was 1.4 but I'm not a golfer so alot of what I hear him and his Dad talk about goes over my head. I am getting better though.:) I do know that his handicap is good and he is training indoors this winter for his last golf season in high school. His H.S. golf team plays in the spring unlike many Northeast H.S.'s who play in the fall. db9golf--- Are you from CT area?

I am from NJ. One of the things that interests me about Tampa is the potential to try and play on their team. Its just one more factor that makes this decision process harder.

I agree. We were just talking about that tonight. If my S decides on Tampa, he better be sure he likes the school in case he doesn't make the golf team. I do think C of C is a better choice for him overall. Let's see what other schools he gets accepted to--the decisions many get harder.

My daughter was admitted from Upstate New York. She has applied early decision to another school, but if not admitted there will certainly give College of Charleston serious consideration, depending on what is offered.

When will you hear from her ED school?

what does everybody's "Admit To:" box say??? does it list your intended major and school and such?

I'm talking about the boxes that are underneath the "Applied to:" boxes (the applied to boxes say like "General Studies UNDECIDED - UNDERGRADUATE")

My S's says admit to General Studies, Undecided-Undergraduate, Undecided,
Accepted, November 5, 2007

Not before Dec. 15. It's nervewracking!

It is stressful. We are waiting on a few more EA then the decisions will be tougher. We need to go back and visit a couple schools before final decisions are made. We are, however, sending in deposits to insure good housing.
