All SAT Scores but Superscored?

Hello all,

So I’ve finished up taking the SATs but I’m just a little confused as to Penn’s policy regarding them. I know I will have to submit all scores, but I saw on their site that they will superscore the SAT. So should I be expecting them to just mainly look at my superscore of 2380, or will they focus a lot on my other tests too? (October: 2290, 790 CR, 710 M, 790 W…November: 2310, 750 CR, 800 M, 760 W). Will any lower scores hurt me?

Thank you!
(PS. not applying this year, I’m only a Junior!)

No… you should be fine, both your tests are solid as hell, and you’ve got a great SAT superscore. As long as each test is good, and the superscore is good, you’re good. Even if you had one bad test, the good one’s’d cancell it out, effectively.

Try taking the ACT in addition to boost your value though, and the SAT II’s of course.

Good luck!

They will only look at your highest score (superscore). Your “lower” scores are well above Penn’s average SAT scores so they would not hurt you at all. And you only took the SAT 3 times (?) to get your superscore of 2380, which is great. If you took, say 5, SATs, to get that score, your 5 tests might hurt you because in most cases, taking the SATs more than 3 times is frowned upon because it makes you look like a score-obsessed manic. I’d say you’re in VERY good shape. Good luck!

Okay great! Thank you so much @SylvRsr and @stellacastor ! Nice to be done after those 2 tests haha! Now on to SAT IIs and possibly ACTs!

@bluekou23 Welcome :slight_smile:

I wouldn’t bother with the ACT, as that would be redundant… you have a 790CR and 800 M it doesn’t get higher than that… just take 2 subject tests in areas you want to study or math 2 for Wharton

I agree with @runswimyoga There is no sense in taking the ACT when your SAT score is almost a perfect score. Don’t waste your money and time! Just take SAT IIs and you’ll have everything you need!

Okay great! One less thing to study for! Thanks for all your help! @runswimyoga @SylvRsr
