<p>Now that all of the applications have been submitted, I would like to know my chances. If you can get through all of this I will more than gladly chance you back.</p>

I am in a magnet Math/Science/Computer program (accepts only 30 kids out of whole district...about 30 out of 2,000)
Intended Major: Pre-Med (will probably major in Math and minor in Bio) I dream of being an Orthopedic Surgeon</p>

<p>GPA: 3.89 UW/ 4.39 W
Rank: 6/493
ACT: 34(was w/o writing) 32 (w/ 12 writing)
PSAT: 185 (not too great...)
SAT: 1950 (didn't really send anywhere)
SAT II's: Didn't take any
AP: 5: US History, US Gov, Computer Science AB, Calc BC, and AB subscore
4: Biology</p>

<p>Schedule: The hardest that one can take at my school</p>

<p>Freshman: Acc. Alg 2, Chem., Computer Science, English 9, World History, Spanish 2
Sophmore: Acc. Analysis, Physics, Bio., Acc. English 10, AP US History, Acc. Geometry, Spanish 3
Junior: AP Calc BC, AP Bio, AP Computer Science AB, Acc. English 11, AP Gov, Psych, Spanish 4</p>

<p>Senior: AP Chem, AP Physics, AP English Lit, AP Spanish 5, Advanced Topics in Mathematics (class includes Discrete math and AP Stats), Personal Fitness, Health</p>

<p>Awards:
Honor Roll all through high school
Earned Academic Letter
Participated in MMPC, MML, Sigma, AMC 10, AMC 12 and other various math competitions
Have won numerous soccer tournaments and awards including regional National Indoor Finalists

NHS- 3 yrs (I am Treasurer this next year)

tutored special needs kids in math (1 yr)
tutor in math help room (2 yr)
Relay for Life-2 yrs
Volunteer at hospital (started Junior year and will continue throughout high school…90+ hours so far)
Shadowed doctors and saw a few surgeries (30+ hours)
Help with All Saints Night at church (4 yrs)
Helped with a local pom team-helped with website, memory book, and various other things (30+)
Some other mis stuff with childrens ministry at church and fixing homes in area</p>

tutor (most was volunteer, but was paid in a few cases)</p>

<p>Other Info: I haven't been able to do as much the past year due to a pretty bad knee injury from soccer. I have had two surgeries and sent well over a year in Physical Therapy. This has limited my playing soccer, doing other ECs and working, since there aren't a lot of places willing to hire someone on crutches. This experience has changed my perspectives on a few things and has solidified my dreams of becoming an orthopedic surgeon. I talked about this in many of my essays.</p>

<p>Letters of Recommendation: are good. One teacher is also a leader for my youth group and commented on my faith and character as well as academics. Another great one from the coordinator of MSC program who I had for math. Councilors is okay. she knows my ability but has never been overly fond of me. </p>

<p>Schools I have been admitted to:
U of Michigan (already offered a one time 1,500 regents scholarship. Honors college invitation)
Grand Valley State (full tuition scholarship. honors college invitation)
Hope College (15,000 a year)
Alma College (18,000 a year. honors college invitation)
Wayne State (estimated full tuition scholarship. honors college invitation)
Purdue (recieved a Beering Scholarship invitation)</p>

<p>Most of your chances were for ivies which are unpredictable so the best chances I can give you are reaches. However, your ACT score is pretty good, GPA looks good, and your course rigor is excellent. EC’s show variety and interest. As long as you had good essays and rec’s, I don’t see why you wouldn’t be accepted to at least one, and if not, you already have some great offers to deal with! Either way you are going somewhere great! Good Luck!</p>

<p>I think out of the remaining schools, JHU is the closest fit, the others are reaches…but they’re reaches with everyone. Seriously consider the less-prestigious schools that you have good scholarships to though; you have a lot of education in front of you with fewer available scholarships. There are a lot of threads on various forums, and just articles in general, about excelling at a state school and getting good MCATs to get into a good med school. Good luck.</p>

Pretty good chances to every school you applied to. However, the ivies are always reaches for everyone (only legacies have good chances to get accepted.)
Mmm…this is what I think:</p>

<p>honestly your grades etc. Are ok but your ec’s and awards are really your saving grace and are probably what will give you a fighting chance in the ivy league…</p>
