All those questions about favorite publications...

So, I really, really love reading AP magazine. For those of you who do not know, it is the number one source for most of the underground punk/metal/alt music. However, it can be pretty edgy at times. Should I not include it on my app? I know it's a silly thing to think about, but I just wanted to know. I mean i guess if the college doesn't know everything about me, how do they know if I am a good fit? I know a lot of the stereotypes associated with that scene are absurd, and I don't fit most of them. After all, I have a 3.99 GPA and a 34 on the ACT with enough ECs, so putting that magazine down shouldn't be too bad for me, right...even for the better schools like Columbia or Stanford?

Thanks a bunch <3

If it means anything I am from a pretty small school in Alabama, but I do not think location or school size have anything to do with this question.

You’re putting reading a magazine as an EC and applying to Stanford??

HAHAHAHAHAAHAHA. Of course not! XD There is a question that asks for the list of publications/magazines that you read regularly on Stanford’s supplement. I’m sorry - by saying “with enough ECs,” I meant actual extra-circulars, not reading magazines. @Julianna5522‌

I say do it. It’ll set you apart from a lot of the other applicants and give a bit of personality to your app/person.
